A new season…
Happy Fall everyone! I’m excited about the new season because honestly, the summer was too hot and humid. Randy and I had a fun-filled summer full of traveling and glorious weather, but it was dampened whenever we returned to Boston, to a home that was taken over by vicious mosquitos! If you have heard or witnessed any of our scars from war, but don’t ask and remind us of those horrific days that are finally long gone. Although we did our best to defeat them (we bought one too many trappers and zappers, got rid of our AC, cleaned house many many times, used up 4 tubes of After Bite, etc.) we begged our landlord and maintenance guys to help us out. It took a 2-3 weeks to finally get a new bathroom (shower walls and floor tiles) and new window screens, which we are happy about.
Now, what does this have to with music? Because we were exiled from our house for about a week, there was no practicing. Now that orchestras are starting up again, I have a renewed craving for playing and listening to wonderful music, and sharing those thoughts with my many new students. I’m definitely teaching a lot more this year, and so far I am happy about that. I will also be playing at my friend’s wedding in October on baroque violin with two other friends from Stony Brook. That will be a good time. Time to update the calendar and see you all soon!
